Incredible ColarApp that lets you colour in images and then bring it to life in 3D using an iPhone or iPad.  The way you colour it and the colours you use are the ones that are going to be used in the final rendering.  Have a look at the videos they will really impress you kids and keep them busy for hours.
I have had a quick look through the FAQ and these are the specs you need: iPhones IOS4 and above and iPad 2 and 3, Backward facing cameras for android 2.2 and above.  I am not sure if it is free.
