Super Paving Machine

This might be a geeky thing to find cool but, how can you not be amazed by this machine and what it can do compared to laying them one by one.  It would be the the equivalent of a farmer during the industrial revolution seeing a motorised harvester. The machine is called the Tiger-Store.  The machine can lay a possible 300 m² in a day.  One of the other good qualities of the Tiger-Storeis is that, partially disabled workers can work on it.

New game from Sony Playstation, "The Last Of Us" with apocalyptic images, following a virus pandemic, that hits major cities.  Some or the more pessimistic ones amongst us think that we are already heading towards that future, me, I am focusing on the weekend that is more imminent and enjoyable.

Clever Artist has come up with this clever Superhero MashUp.  We have added the original Superheroes on either side as reference.  Eric Guzman's work is in the middle section showing what would happen if you were to combine Superheroes.

Miniature Food

Incredible miniature foods. They vary from savoury to sweet dishes and staged in a lot of different ways.  Stéphanie Kilgast has been very busy, it would be very difficult to put all the images that are on the site as there are so many.  The match gives you a sense of scale.  These are not just miniature creations they are very well coloured shaded and detailed.  Apart from a Dolls house let me know how you would us these miniatures.

Model Box 3D

Printing is now beginning to go 3D but it isn't still for the masses, it is quite expensive to have products made and more expensive to buy the actual printer. Model Box 3D provides a way of producing  simulated 3D image from a series of 2D transparent sheets.  This system can be of use to a variety of people, from art students to sculptors for low budget prototyping.  Laura Krause and Eric Sagotsky are currently trying to raise the money they will need for production, from Kickstarter.  When it raised you will be able buy the kit which includes the Acrylic Box, 28 inkjet or laser printable transparencies and the software to turn your designs into a series of flat layers to print.  Some images will come with the kit and you will have access to a repository online for more.  We have loaded 3 videos that explain the origin and practical uses of this 3D display case.

Sandy, a draughtsman by profession, started making these models after convalescing from a motorcycle accident.

Talented Artist derives inspiration from classic works of art to paint these high heels.  Boyarde Messenger, is said to paint on everything but paper.  Nice to see someone making something as mass produced as shoes in to something individual and unique.  Just show that if you have the will, you can customise just about anything. RC Flying Car

This is a prototype of a remote controlled (RC) car that can do a lot of things. It can be driven like  normal RC car and it can also fly like a helicopter.  Furter more it is equipped with a 720x1280 HD camera that is mounted on the front of the car, that supports a 32gb Micro SD card so that you can film all your stunts from the the ground or sky. Witold Mielniczek inventor of the flying car also called 'B' is based in Southampton in the UK. At the moment he is trying to raise the money he needs for manufacturing from Kickstarter. We have included 2 videos in the article to showcase all the aspects of this small marvel.

Ceramic of Death

"Delft Porcelain" this is what this collections is called. The British Artist Magnus Gjoen wants us to see things in a different way, by making an artistic creation out of subjects, usually associated with harm and death.  The porcelain pieces are fragile and beautiful, which is meant to contrast with the way we view the original real counterparts.

Light up your Bike.  The Monkey Light system has become much more than just putting some pretty lights on your bike. you can put your own artwork on it. Building Flowers

Harvard University constructed these flowers made of crystals using chemical reactions.  This isn't the amazing thing, You need an electron microscope to view these flowers as they are measured in microns (1 millimetre = 1000 microns). The flowers were coloured in but the construction is absolutely real.

You can literally wheel your small office from place to place.  The block can also be tethered to the electrical grid.  This piece of furniture provides 2 chairs a table and shelving.  I don't think this is a gimmick, as you can go to a venues like fairs, trade shows and expositions without relying on organisers to provide furniture for you.  This is the brain child of Tim Vinke, view the video in the article. 

Pebble Watch

Amazing E-Paper Watch for iPhone and Android.  A watch that has finally caught up with the technology we carry with us on a daily basis.  Pebble can connect to other electronic devices via Bluetooth and it can also run apps.  These are some of the things it can do: Incoming Caller ID , Email, SMS on both Android and iPhones, iMessage (iOS only), Calendar Alerts, Facebook Messages, Twitter, Weather Alerts, Silent vibrating alarm, time and back light. Excel Art

This Artist is an incredible advert for Microsoft Excel.  You may be asking Why? Because all the Art in this article were made by Japanese artist Tatsuo Hourichi using Excel to compose his pieces (You can see a picture of him with his art at the bottom of the article).  All you accountants out there that only thought that excel could be used for numbers and bookkeeping... Send a link to your accountant he will get a kick out of it.

Bonsai Tree Islands

I was originally thinking of paring these images up like the one on the front page, but then you wouldn't be able to enjoy and appreciate the level on this live sculpture.  Japanese Artist Takanori Aiba.  The installation above is called Hawaiian Pineapple Resort.

Maze Aquarium

This labyrinth aquarium looks really interesting and a lot of fun.  You can probably spend hours looking at the fish explore every compartment of the tanks.  It looks very well crafted and measures H 1372mm x W 1295mm x D 1067mm.  You can find one for sale at Opulentitems (not cheap $6500 though).

Picture and Mirror Table

We have featured various space saving and multifunctional furniture for small spaces, this is another excellent idea, getting dual use from your mirror or picture frame, to form a fully functioning table.  This product seems to be made to go with the "Hanging Pick Chair".  The designer of this table, IVYDESIGN, suggests possible use in hotel rooms, coffee houses and lounges.  The table measures  1300mm x 850mm x 750mm. Pencil Graphite Sculpture

Brazilian Sculpture and Artist Dalton M. Ghetti produced these intricate and delicate carvings on the tips of Pencils, carving the Graphite and the wood to come up with these mini sculptures.  The precision and patients to execute these little artworks is a real testament to Dalton Himself.

Phone Book Faces

Carvings made out of Phone Books, this Artist sometimes uses a black wash to enhance the features and applies acrylic to preserve the pages leaving them pliable to the touch.  Cuban Artist Alex Queral makes a simple phone book into so much more than its original purpose and keeps it away from the landfill.  Pay special attention to the top right hand corner of each page, as the alphabetization matches the person sculpted, very clever.
