Tulle Portrait Sculptures

Benjamin Shine is a multidisciplinary Artist, we have chosen his work with Tulle (first produced 1810-20, it takes its name from Tulle, France, where it was first made, a fine net fabric of silk, rayon, etc, used for evening dresses, as a trimming for hats, etc).  The portrait is attained by pleating and  pressing the material, ONE single length of it, to give prominence to the features of the face and the light and dark shading.
