Small Wire Tree Sculptures

Clive Maddison is a multi disciplinary Artist, Model Maker, Musician, Book Writer and Sculptor, the last one is the one we have concentrated on, on this post.  Maddison creates these beautiful trees using single strand wires that run from the roots to the leaves.  He uses no glue or solder to keep them in place, it is all done using the strength of the wire which is twisted and looped on its self.  The beauty of this form of art is that every piece is unique, as they are assembled by hand and it would be very difficult, if not impossible to recreate exactly a sculpture, making each one a one-off.  Below are more details and specifications, showing you what goes into a one of these Sculptures.

This Tree has been made with 346 meters (1,135 feet) of wire running from roots to the leaves and has approximately 17,000 loops in the canopy. The base is made from a piece of Sweet Chestnut.
