Mandala Drawings Adaptations

Mandala Drawings by Tatyanka Gunchak
An ancient form of art, adapted in the twenty-first century.
Russian Artist Tatyanka Gunchak takes complex and precise mandala patterns, and incorporates them within, or aside other drawings.

Animals, objects, performance dance, architecture and more... They all get this detailed geometric treatment, that is the signature of this form of art.

Even though the illustrations are mostly formed by repeating geometric patterns, they are not as stiff as you would first think; the fluidity of the design first tree, is a beautiful example of what I mean.

I love how art, through artists, finds a way of evolving concepts, without loosing sight of its origins. Not replacing it, but experimenting and co-existing side by side.
