I love the fluidity of the movements the pencil takes to depict these animal forms. It's not trying to accomplish a realistic look, rather a designer, stylised one of the being.
There are images where there is a study of a single animal and then there are those that include a group of different species.
The sharks, rhinos and bears are where movement and fluidity, for me, are at their best. The other ones are beautiful, but these embody those qualities the best.
The two dogs playing together show a happy and fun aspect of the purpose of a study like this.
The last mentions for today's post are the hippos and their run. Definitely a physical appearance that lends itself to this style of drawing. I absolutely love the shape and proportion of their faces. They are so different from all of the other animals. That makes sense when you find out that the animals they are most closely related to are: Whales, dolphins and porpoises. I looked this last part up.
