Surreal animal pencil drawings. Be ready to be fascinated and intrigued.
Dave Mottram drew all of the beautifully strange little critters you see on this page.
It's been some time since I last wrote a post about surrealism. A few years ago, there seemed to be more of it. Now it feels like there are fewer artists venturing into this form of art. It's just as well that artists like Mottram keep going.
There is one piece which is a hat tip to a famous novel: Alice in wonderland. The rest seem to be original characters created by the artist.
There are funny moments... All of the birds standing around the dodo, seemingly explaining something? Sweet moments... Like the beaver and the platypus exchanging presents. Strange moments... The catfish sitting at the table and preparing the lures to go fishing.
Before you continue down this post, a piece of advice... Clear your mind and leave it open to all that is to come. This way, the art will make a bigger, better impact on you.
Have fun with Mottram's amazing art and allow a little of that craziness to spill into your Sunday.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
