The New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development sponsored a competition for 1 and 2 people dwellings in NY to help with their increasing housing needs. The 55 "MY MICRO NY" Apartments are the winning design from nARCHITECTS architects. The Apartments are built and kitted out off site and then transported and craned into place.
The building will include Community Facility, Retail as well as Apartments. Micro Modular Apartments are 250 to 370 square feet with a 9'10" floor to ceiling height and Juliet balconies. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2013.
