Canadian Artist
David Irvine first came up with the idea in 2004, after rescuing a table from the trash. After fixing it and painting it, he saw the potential artistic treasure trove hidden in what we discard and give little value to. He set up Gnarled Branch and started buying cheap, old art from thrift shops and second hand markets, adding his own touch to make them more quirky and something people would give a second look at. You could call this, a form of recycling and up-cycling.
