Jason Edmiston has been a Commercial Illustrator since 1996, producing work for advertisers, editorials, packaging and book publishing clients internationally. He creates his paintings with acrylic of watercolors, on paper or wood panels. The cool thing about his process is that, he uses his father as a model, to set-up the scene. He will take likenesses from screen grabs or photo references, but makes it his own by portraying the characters in novel, original poses. Quote from the artist: "When I have a concept sketch for a piece worked out, I pop over to my parents’ house and get my dad to dress up like the character while I set up lighting to match the scene. He’s very accommodating, and willing to pose in all sorts of ways, and always manages to get into character."
