Turkish artist Garip AY studied art and specifically Turkish art, at High School and then at University. He is most well know for his paintings on water, that have seen him travel the cities of the world and being filmed whilst creating his art. No one is quite sure when this technique was actually born, but the best guesses locate it in Turkistan, in Central Asia, around the 17th century. It was used to record important events and used as a way of preventing alterations. Due to the nature of this process it would be almost impossible to replicate exactly a paintings or document using this method or to add to it without sticking-out.
