Hopefully we will get to a point where, we can convert prisons on mass, to Hotels, Offices, really anything but...
Some people would say that some hotels out there feel like being in a prison.
The Het Arresthuis Hotel was originally a prison that was
converted into a luxurious Boutique
Hotel . It was built in 1863 and held inmates for about 150 years, when it was transformed, the 105 cells became 40 rooms that are entered via the long hallway and balconies. The doors are the original ones, kept as a reminder of the history of the hotel, whilst the courtyard now houses the terraced seating area for the café and bars. Many more pictures and a video below of this beautiful hotel. Imagine if the inmates form the past could see it now...
