Very different and inspiring architecture.
This building was designed by Japanese Architectural firm A.L.X. Sampei Junichi. It is located on the outskirts of Tokyo, where some of the farmland in the area, is being re-zoned as residential. The boxed structure could look quite stark from the outside, especially the north side of the building, but this is because it is really near the train tracks and sound insulation was a priority, so no glass windows could be positioned on the façade. The architectural envelope of the building, hides a lovely open plan structure, full of light and a sense of space during the day and really comes alive at night, where it almost look like a wonderful beside lamp, to me. Plenty of photographs below to appreciate how to think out of the box whilst living in one.
