Emma, also known as the Tokidoki Traveller, is an Australian living and working in Japan. She makes videos about her life there and publishes them on YouTube. This video was made two years after the first one, that was filmed when she initially moved into her home. This is the poster child of a tiny house, it is 8m² (86ft²) and the rent in 2016 was ¥69.000, the equivalent of $640. She explains in the video why it is so expensive, also the essential qualities that this flat provided. Since then, she has moved to a larger and cheaper place, in Tokyo. Pictures below give you an idea of the the place and the space, but nothing can beat the video walk through and description from Emma. With a place so small, you really gain an appreciation for the things, you really need in life and can't do without, as you can't afford to buy non essentials, that will only clutter your space.
