Stippling Tiny Ink Drawings

00-Stippling-Drawings-bloopdots-www-designstack-co
Tiny drawings perfectly detailed and executed.

British artist and tattooer Luke goes by the name bloopdots "The Flying Dotsman".

His chosen professional name comes from the technique he adopts to create, but maybe more specifically constructs, his drawings.

With Stippling (also known by some as Pointalism), the artist puts together images using only ink dot, usually from a fineliner. Contrast and shading, are achieved by varying the concentration of the dots in that area.

The miniature size of the drawings, makes this process even more difficult, because it's all about the amount and the concentration of the dots. The more you put, the finer, smother the transitions between light and dark; therefore, better the finish effect. If you make a small drawing, you have to use a really thin tip, to punch in many hundreds or thousands of dots, to achieve the perfect result.

The initial part explains about the how to and the complexity around this technique. This leaves the subject matter and the imagination, to make them as interesting as possible. Take for example the eagle, can't quite focus on the image? Don't worry the Optician is not the answer here...

Lots more to see and enjoy in these drawings, have fun with them.

Ps. I gave the images some titles.

Nothing special and not original, traced from other artists and then just dotted

    1. We travel the internet on a daily basis and haven't seen these designs repeated as you said. In Some of these basic concepts yes (the idea), but not the finished design. Plus we have no idea who came up with the original concept. These were drawn in 2020.

Even if the inspiration comes from another artist, and I not saying it does in this case as I have not seen the evidence, this is how people learn to draw and hone in their skills.

To your second point: To make assumptions they are traced and passing it as fact, doesn't require more words than have been spoken.

We have many more posts and artists on this site, I hope you can find something you enjoy more and that captures your imagination.

Have a fantastic end of year and great start to the new one.🌿️🌺️🌿️
