Drawing and Painting Animal Mythology

Today it's all about mythology and beautifully stylised animals.
We keep coming back to Finnish Artist Jonna Hyttinen's social media page, as every time we do there is something new and exiting in it.

You know how in a previous post I was mentioning Inktober? (the month of October dedicated to ink drawings. One every day).
Hyttinen's started her own Mythtober: Every day she draws/paints a mythical creature taken from folklore.

Below a collection of well known and some a little less so. They all share her amazing style and almost look like they come from the same story. In fact they are separated by geography, coming as they do, from different countries and times; some of them spanning hundreds of years apart.

I like to finish and start the week with fantasy based posts. I find them both relaxing and invigorating.

I know it's an oxymoron, but post like this on a Sunday make me sit back and imagine calmly and serenely.
At the beginning of the week, on a Monday, these same thoughts push me to see real potential in the coming days and an uplift in spirit; just like a flame, that I do all I can to keep it ignited till Sunday.

I hope this has a similar effect on you, or that you have something similar in your life to make emotions a ray sunlight that warms you from the inside...
