A gentle creature roaming the forest, interacting with animals.

There is so much to like about artist Dan May's work. Not only for what you see, but also for what you don't.

His furry creatures don't have developed yes that you can see clearly. They have no visible mouth or distinct features. These are the principal factors though witch we emote. We express our emotions on our faces, by creating subtle variations in the size, shape and movement of these features.

May uses the creature's surrounds, companion animals and nature, to give us hints as to what feelings might be at play in any given situation. The surprising and pleasing effect is that they are made as readable, as any human face.
