Ink stippling, used to bring out every gram of cuteness from these amazing animals.
British artist Emily Short draws commissions for pet owners. Cats and dogs seem to take pride of place on her Instagram page. That said, there are other little critters as well. I have shown a few examples below.
The realism of the drawings is impressive enough. When you add to it the fact that they were drawn using the dot work or stipple technique, it just pushes it over the top.
Little dots are punched by hand by the artist, to create the dark and light areas, which form these sweet likenesses. Do any of them remind you of any cute furry little animal in your life?
Ps. I gave the images some titles.

I'm not a dog pic fan, but the little chap at the bottom sure could grab my attention. Stippling is such a long process,Emily Short does a fantastic job of it! Very life like portraits... she should be very proud of her work!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comment. I am sure that if Ms. Short sees it she is going to be very happy with it.
