Architecture and design in amazing settings.
Russian artist Gennady Ovcharenko (Геннадий Овчаренко) has this to say on his social media page: "MARKHI, Associate Professor of the Department of Drawing - (Moscow Architectural Institute)".
Some of these illustrations are created using pencil and others using a pencil outline and a watercolor overlay.
There are great drawings up and down this page. The one that impressed me the most, is the drawing I named "The space between buildings". I love internal courtyards and spaces like this. Where flowers and architectural detailing, are created to make people more comfortable in the places we live in.

I enjoyed looking at these drawings. The lighting in most of them caught my eye. Especially in the first three. I think that is something many artists don't put in their drawings. I know that sounds weird, but so many end the drawing w/o any inkling of bright sunshine slanting through or hitting a building w strength. It certainly adds the dimension that could be missing. A little light goes a long way.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean and agree completely. It's the last 10% of the finishing touches that can make all of the difference in the finished piece.
