Memories of people and travel, captured on diary moleskine sketchbook.
The following was on one of Artist Sim Sim's posts on her social media page:
"This past 2 years have been really hard for me to travel and take my own references. I tried to study as much image as I can that makes me feels something.
My work revolves a lot about memories and nostalgia. That’s why I’m such a lover of sketchbook, it feels like an album memory, a journal for me.
Polaroids has also been an huge part of my study lately, maybe I’ll post some of them in a future."
Taking photos is of course a fantastic way of capturing a moment, but drawing it, etches it in your mind. Plus, you still have the charcoal hard copy to show others.
