Intricate ink detailing is what makes this artist's work so impressive.
Filipino Artist Kerby Rosanes is one of the first artist we ever featured here on DesignStack.
On this page, I have many favourites for differing reasons. If I were to list them by categories, you would see the number one and two continually change. As an example two categories are "concept" and "intricacy".
In the first I would put the "Courtesan" and the "Breath of Neptune". Both together. As well as a amazing execution and idea for drawings, they have an aquatic theme linking them.
In the second to do with intricacy, I would put "Minokawa sun eater" and "Bakunawa moon eater". They are both stunningly complex drawings. The detailing weaving ink throughout the page, leaves so little white areas... Even then, the drawings are clear. The path of the bodies of the two creatures can still be distinctly followed through all of the twists and turns they make.
When people say a piece of art is beautiful it tells us everything and nothing about it. It's the subsections of that term, the individual aspects and qualities that when added give us an overall appreciation for what we are looking at. Our brain goes through analysing all of the different aspects, then it and gives us a concise all encompassing term to express it: "Beautiful."
Working backwards and figuring out what makes my brain reach that conclusion, is something that gives me an insight into my mind and a further appreciation of art.
