Striped mashups of classic Hollywood Celebrities and Old Master art.

Luigi Tarini explains how his first project of the series was started with the idea of swapping Van Gogh's face for Clint Eastwood's. He wasn't satisfied with the result and after various attempts, realised it worked better with strips of both images.

Tarini has this to say about the work that goes into each picture: "For each artwork, most of the time is spent searching for the right picture of actress/actor to combine with the painting I choose." If you think about it, he has to find the right perspectives and proportions, so that when they are interlaced they fit as seamlessly as possible. The goal I am sure, is to make it look like one photo at the end. (Not quite one photo, but you know what I mean.)

I have a feeling the process is more difficult than it first seems. Very time consuming and requiring a lot of patience. It's all worth it in the end, when you get results such as these.
