Nigerian Artist Arinze Stanley is a master of his craft. The following is a brief extract from his site: "Portraits of black subjects that embody the complex emotions associated with the contemporary black experience."
A lot of emotions externalised through the expressions of the models, which tell a story of the way the artist sees aspects of his life in his country.
There are strong hitting images. Many more on Stanley's site (just press his name above to see them). There is this real contrast between the beauty of the art and the models and some of the messages encapsulated within them.
Art that reminds us that there are more layers to our existence and daily life. Because we might want to choose to see only some of them, doesn't mean that the ones we reject disappear. They are just hidden behind a very thin veil waiting to burst through...
