I adore the minimalist approach to these likenesses.  They look like they are painted in light, emerging from the shadows.

There is one exception to the black and white execution from Ilojleen's work.  The exception comes in the form of the vampire diary illustration.  It was achieved using Polycolor coloured pencils.  It stands out for its blue hue and the very subtle red tones.
