Animal and creature ink drawings full of fantasy and magic.
Monika Rychlicka-Borzechowska drew all of the critter you see on this page.
Realistic, sometimes surreal and out-of-this world illustrations of beings I have told you are animals, but sometimes only resemble them.
I have seen different versions of the first drawing. The images are very different, whilst all symbolizing loss. Sometimes it's the animal that's gone and sometimes it's the human. Touching pictures, beautifully executed, make the point perfectly.
The other one I really like is the gentle scarecrow. At first look, it comes across as a figure you should be scared of. A nasty creature there to intimidate and oppress. In fact, the gentleness of the relationship with the sparrow, tells you everything you need to know about this character.
Each one of Rychlicka-Borzechowska's pieces can be seen as a starter kit to a wonderful story not yet told. Which one would you tell first?
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
