I mentioned above there are two different types of drawings here.
The first subject encompasses tutorials. These are step-by-step drawings of portraits There are six intermediate drawings that culminate in a bigger finished one.
As much as I like those pieces, I love the second group. These are realistic drawings that depict peaceful, joyful drawings of children. Many of them are accompanied by their dogs. They are so beautifully drawn. They look like vintage black and white photographs. All of these points come together to give Vanderpool's work an exceptional feeling of serenity and awe at the perfect finish.
