Design Firm Mithun, was commissioned by Boy Scouts of America and Trinity Works, to construct a building for them. These are some of the details from the designers: "The towering 125-foot steel frame connects visitors with panoramic views of the ground, tree canopy and sky. Ascending indoor and outdoor platforms, visitors learn about sustainable design and ecology through immersive experiences and hands-on exhibits." The 5,805 sf building is set on a 10,600 acre site, which produces its own electricity and water, resulting in net-zero emissions for both. In this sustainable building, the electricity is produced using photovoltaic panels and wind turbines whilst, the water is collected and filtrated on site, for consumption. An example of an effective building that is helping with the push, to a carbon neutral society.
