Famous fashion designer builds a beach house, 80 years after the Architect drew the plans, more in the post.
This beach house, was born as a concept in 1934, drawn by famous Parisian Architect Charlotte Perriand. It won second prise, in a competition that seeked to find an answer to designing and building cheap holiday homes. When the fashion giant Louis Vuitton, created a clothing line that was inspired by Charlotte Perriand, they also decided to build the holiday retreat "La Maison au Bord de l’Eau", as faithfully as possible, to her original drawings. The building is split in two, by an open veranda, with living, dining room and kitchen on one side, whist the opposite side, houses a bathroom and 2 bedrooms. The stools, pictured below were also designed by Perriand as part of her furniture collection.
