Portraits that incorporate different mediums: Pencil, ink, paint and sometimes paper collage.
Plasticien Tardat created all of the art you see on this page.
There is so much to like about Tardat's art. I know I say it quite often in the posts. It relates to art that speaks to me on different levels. They have many different attributes that come together to form a fantastic body of work. I am not taking away from the more minimalist kind of works. They have their own strengths and attributes.
There is a lot to be gained by mixing mediums. Each one has qualities they can bring to the table. The different ways artists combine them can result in very different results. Even if two pieces have the same subject matter.
The style is another thing that impresses me. A continuous movement between more and less detailing, a more descriptive form of the detail and a fluid one that hints at the form.
Pencil, ink, paint and newspaper are mixed together like an alchemist would. All to reveal a wonderful result that is so pleasing to the eye.
