An artist that captures the expression and likeness, of his unknown models.
Self-taught Slovakian artist miro_z, has a unique style of painting, that transform a normal watercolor painting into a search for the essence of a person. On his site, he tells us how he is fascinated by the human form and how he tries to replicate expressions he sees, in people he knows nothing about. Not knowing what the model was thinking at the moment his or her likeness was taken, gives us the viewer, the liberty to interpret these people as we like. We can give them a back-story and personality that they might not have had in real life. The reason for the title is that, when I look at his paintings, I am not sure if they are in the process of appearing or disappearing from the canvas. I guess with a static image, the debate will never be adequately answered...
