Complex and Detailed Surrealism Happening in Drawings

Images that need to be enlarged, to see all the meticulous work that has gone in drawing them.
American artist Ethan Murrow, was very much influenced by the times his great grandparents lived in, but specifically, the trials and tribulations they went through on a daily basis, with the colonisation of the west of the US.  This is part of his statement "a staggering history of discovery, ignorance, reinvention, loss, and the harsh transformation of a landscape and people. This narrative and the factual, idealized, absurd, and uncomfortable ways in which we Americans choose to craft tales about our country has defined what I navigate."  I think that this section really sets up his art, that has a definitive surreal feel, for me.  That said, it's difficult to summarise a deep and complex thought in one small extract, so visit Murrow's site to find out more about his inspiration.  Back to this post, press the images to enlarge them (not the first one), they are so very well drawn, that you really don't want to miss any of the details.
