Buildings like The Helmn, provide more affordable homes with some great specifications.
American family run company Cargohome, are the designers and builders of this lovely home. It combines a 40 foot (12m) container on the bottom and a 20 foot (6m) container on top. As you can see from the pictures, it has been only partially cladded to celebrate its origins. Containers are built to be air and water tight. That means that, with the right amount and placement of insulation, they can become a very efficient home on multiple levels, both in cold and hot weather. This is a compact house, but thanks to it's efficient design, nothing feels small. On the ground floor we have: a small bedroom, next to it the bathroom, kitchen, dining and living areas. On the first floor we have: the master suite with a full size bathroom. A large set of glazed doors, open onto the private upper deck. A House that recycles shipping containers and upcycles them. to become a cosy habitation.
