Animal drawings taken to an entire different level, both in size and the nature of their reality.
Adonna Khare received her Masters of Fine Art and mostly draws with carbon pencil on paper. As you can see the size of her art varies quite substantially, "In 2012 she won the world’s largest art competition ArtPrize, competing against over 1500 artists from all around the world." Her works come from a very different place, compared with the reality based world we live in. This exploration of surrealism, gives her work another facet to admire, as well as her technical proficiency. I don't have the Artist's titles for the drawings, which gives us the viewer, the chance to investigate and try and work out what is going on in any given piece. Have fun with the process.

Been drawing most of my career, It's finally nice to see drawings well accepted in galleries. (Unheard of in my day!) Great work...Michael.
ReplyDeleteDrawing has never really given the status of the more expensive mediums.
DeleteA way of saying that if you are a serious artist, you will spend money on the materials to prove it.
Charcoal and pencil relegated to budding artists and drawing studies. Things are changing all over now and drawing is taking over the imagination of young artists and admirers. This can only be a good thing.
