Mostly animals we are used to seeing on a daily basis, in books or documentaries on TV, with a couple of noticeable exceptions: the dinosaur Triceratops and Anubis, who in Egyptian mythology, was the God of the dead. It is believed that because the African golden wolf, also known as the Egyptian jackal, frequented cemeteries, they were kind of custodians of the dead (they were probably there for the opposite reason, a quick meal) and that is why Anubis was given a jackal head.
