Sketch Vs Realistic Portraits

As you have probably guessed from the title, most of these drawings have a dual identity, as a sketch and as a realistic, or hyper realistic drawing.
Both drawings from Ukrainian Artist Nikolaj, have their own style and something that makes them really special, in their own way.  There are only two exceptions to this format, that I couldn't leave behind, so I added them anyway.  A novel way of creating portraits from a single artist. Drawings accomplished mostly using fineliner and graphite pencil.

    I love these "steps in drawing" if you will. Especialy how the eyes, hands nd lips are shown in stages.

      I had never come across someone that drew separate drawings, for sketches and realistic looks, of the same portrait, really interesting.
      The features of the face displayed in three different stages, really caught my attention, so much so that I had to include them in this post.
