British textile artist Rachel Austin, says that she is greatly influenced and inspired by nature. The process takes a lot of creativity and starts with unwanted faux fur. Austin has to then imagine how to turn that flat garment, into an animal. She has sewn together fabrics to create all sorts of animals, from tiny little birds to a full sized badger. Very inspirational work, that underlines not to let anything go to waste, if it can be reused or if someone has a need for it. In many parts of the world, social media recycling and upcycling forums, have sprung up, to match people that want to get rid of things and the ones have a need or can find a use, for something that no longer hold value value for the person getting rid of it. Check your local boards and lets reduce the items that go to landfills.
