The verb "spreading" can be associated with negative connotations, especially these days. Don't worry, this is all good.
Self-taught Moroccan Artist and Graphic Designer Duae Maz makes another appearance, here on DesignStack. Last time we showed her Blue and Black Ballpoint Pen Portraits. This week, is the turn of her pencil portraits.
These drawings are just as beautifully executed, with captivating expressions to go with them. Quite a few smiling and laughing expressions, that seem to be missing from the repertoire of a lot of portraits artists out there.
It's great that when you are in the presence of another person and they are smiling or laughing; you end up doing it too unconsciously. It's explained as a social imperative for humans, as it builds empathy and makes socialising easier, when sharing an experience.
The reason I mentioned this is that: when I was looking at Maz's drawings, specifically the ones that include smiles and laughs, before I realised what was going on, my mouth stretched outwards and curled upwards. I was sitting there with a smile of my own. A powerful thing when a talented artist like Maz can bring joy, in the form of a smile, by drawing a portrait...
I hope they have the same effect on you.
