Black and White Stippled Animals

An artist that has a real special spot for octopuses, or octopi.  You will see what I mean below...
Mexican, Professional Photographer & Industrial Designer María Lecanda has this to say on her social media page "Easily distracted by creatures and objects."

The drawing I like the most from her collection, is the WIP of the sharks amongst the fish.  It is also the one that comes with a very funny comment by Lecanda.  Here it is: "Have definitely been questioning my decisions every 3 fishes... "
If you look at the minute detailing, you can absolutely see why. 😃️😃️😃️

Stippling, also called pointillism by some, is a technique whereby the artist constructs an image by using dots; usually from an in fineliner pen.  The density of the clustering of the dots will give you areas of light (fewer dots) and dark (more dots).  Just consider that the background of the first octopus drawing is not on black paper, those are all ink dots...  It is a painstaking and laborious process that really puts the commitment of the artist, to the test.

As you can see form the drawings in this post, Lecanda passes with flying colors.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. 🌿️🌺️🌿️
