Pourianahaei is different from many artists, just look at all of the drawings of older people I found.
Some have convinced us that when we see pictures of older people, we should shriek in horror at the thought that one day we might look like them.
A good way to explain what I appreciate about these time sculpted faces, is through an analogy.
I really like the clean lines and minimalist design of younger looking buildings. An example of this is the glass fronted or fashionable looking panelling.
But I absolutely love the building design and architectural features of the older structures. A casual glance will not reveal the beauty and complex design work of the entire structure; it cones with a more in depth look.
Time has spent decades putting all of that lovely detailing. Contouring them just right and personalised to fit each one of our faces. It seems a pity not to appreciate it.
All this is not to say you should like it, just that that is why I do. As long as you are happy with what you have, that is all that matters.
Portraits that use pen, pencil and charcoal to capture interesting people. There are no big expressions or varied poses, but only beauty in a subtle and deceiving simplicity. Enjoy....
