This is how French Self-taught Cristina Simon describes her relationship with her work: "As an artist I aim to achieve detailed and realistic wildlife and botanical portraits and, at the same time, enhance features and colours that I perceive as the essence of the subject I am drawing.

My love of nature and art are inseparable, and I could never imagine one without the other. The more I draw and get to know my subjects, the more I love nature and the more I want to draw it."

      I know what you mean. Other than the Robin Red Breast, my favourite is the honey bee. So beautiful and realistic, just waiting for it to start buzzing.
