Intricate doodle drawings of animals and fantasy creatures.
We have written so many posts about this talented Filipino Artist Kerby Rosanes. Below is a link to all the posts.
I hope you are looking at this artwork on a large screen. Zooming in is an option as well. Some of these drawings have so much detailing, that a small image, will just not do them justice.
I have different favourites for different reasons. To illustrate the point above though, have a look the drawing I have named "An artist's imagination". There is so much going on there. The perfect way of showing through drawing, some of the worlds and inhabitants, which reside in such a fertile mind.
I will leave you to enjoy the drawings and your Friday.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.

The humminbird/butterfly, spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThey are all great but that one for some reason jumps out at me.
The others are like we talked about the other day of trendy (the ones w the horns.)
Artist imagination is so fun! All kinds of things to excite the eye!
Wonderful!
I am glad you like the the drawings,
DeleteBut the diamond drawings are expressing real problems affecting animals.
People assign value to something like a tusk or a fin. They have no value except for the value they are assigned. The animal is left to rot, with none of it being consumed for food or substance. They are being hunted to excitation for trinkets and an expensive side dish.
I can't see that as trendy.
I find that art, in it's many different forms, has a history of highlighting all sorts of issues like these. It's an important voice, when it's heart felt and not exploitative it's self.
Art has so many layers people pick and choose from. Activism is one of them.
I don't mean for this to be like a lecture, it's just my opinion and a counterpoint.
Have a fantastic Friday. 🌿️🌺️🌿️
Take care.

Yes, I realized that. At this time in our world, I'd like to see that set aside for a bit to bring in the greater aspect of art itself. All art is out there for one reason or another, but lately, it seems it all runs so political it is nice to see something that is more freeing to the imagination and allows you to step aside from the daily on slaught to a place that is more simple. I guess I feel it is more trendy because it is so common now that the art part of the drawing gets overridden by the political aspects. I know that all generations of artists have expressed some of their own beliefs in this manner. It is not uncommon. But when you look at those aspects, they are in a manner of speaking, trendy to the political atmosphere of the time.
ReplyDeleteI agree that in some places there is way to much focus on the bad/negative and destructive.
DeleteI try and keep it positive here and redress the balance. A nice place where you can go and forget, for a short while, about all that is going on outside.
But to keep the balance, I also have to show from time to time, the other side of the coin. I try and mix it in with other themes and concepts, so that it's a part and not the entire message of the post.
That said, I see where you are coming from.

I think its great that you bring these artists into the open, so often not as well known artists get left in the dust when their art really should be seen by many. Thanks for having this blog where that can be done!
DeleteIt's very kind of you I really appreciate it.
