Chalk Drawings Street Portraits

Temporary street art.

Vietnamese Painter/Fine Art instructor Cuong Nguyen. His love for drawing started at a young age. He took advantage of his skill by getting paid for producing portraits of people on the streets. He used the money to contribute to the family finances.

He was accepted to Saigon's Academy of Art, where he furthered his understanding and knowledge of art. He cut short his studies, when he had a chance to move to the US. Here, where he earned a degree in illustration.

The mediums he now gravitates towards are oil paints and pastels. You can see more of that work, in an earlier post about Nguyen. LINK below. Today we are looking at his chalk pavement portraits. The application is so smooth and his blends and color graduations so perfect, they look like they belong on a canvas and in a museum.
