Progression Pencil Portrait Drawing Tutorial

A post about the progression of pencil portraits, which form the basis of a tutorial.

Artist Aduhong is kind enough to chronicle and then show us how these drawings. They go from a faint outline, to amazing likenesses. In the case of celebrity Katheryn Winnick, one of the stars of the Viking series, you actually get a photo realistic illustration.

Many expressions on display today. It's weird how I find some of the emotions more prominent in the WIP format, rather than the fully finished piece. Have a look and see if you find the same thing.

Something for everyone here.  Whether you are a budding artist or want to try just for fun. You can start with the images that display the whole spectrum, from outline sketch to finished drawing. See how you do and then move on to another one.

The beginning of the weekend and I hope you have fantastic plans for it. This post and your breakfast will get you to a good start...

Ps. I gave the images some titles.
