With artists whom dabble in this kind of art, it's all about creating focus in chaos. You see all of these seemingly random lines? Ahmet expertise is to be able to pluck these stray lines and positioning just in the right place. The right place being a subtle one. Just enough to see the features of the face, but not much more.
The real secret seems to be encompassed by the famous phrase: "Less is more." A lovely balance and a knowledge of when to stop adding details...
