A very distinct set of pencil portraits with one celebrity for you today.
Jacques drew all of the likenesses you see on this page.
The illustrations are beautifully stylised, expressing concepts at the same time as reproducing people's faces. If you look at the bottom image, it includes some thoughts from the artist.
Amongst the faces, there is one more recognisable and that is the one of famous actress Audrey Hepburn. A side glance that encapsulates the expression and the person.
I really like how expressive these drawings are. There are no extremes, very happy or sad, rather, subtle looks that encompass a lot of subtext.
Drawing-wise, the one I tend to gravitate towards the most is the third drawing down. The union of minimalist art in the hair and the sketch-like finish in the beard, to finish in the lifelike and piercing look emanated by the eyes.
Have a look through them and see what you think.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
