Drawings of Minimalist Hyper Realistic Portraits

Minimalist Celebrity Drawings mostly Black and White

Art & Design student Raymond Gunawan from Surabaya, Indonesia has a love for art and drawing as you can see from the drawings below.  We he put together an assortment of his work, consisting mostly of celebrity portraits, but also including commissions from the public and assignments from his University course.  We have featured this style of drawings before (links at the bottom of the page) and it is very effective, they almost looks like an over exposed Black and White photograph.

Minimalist Black and White Watercolors

We have chosen today, a very unusual medium, Black and White Watercolors by Indonesian Artist Elicia Edijanto. She does a magnificent job of bringing these fascinating minimalist paintings to life.  Most of them feature a relationship between one animal and one person.  Even though the paintings do not have a lot of detail, they manage to get across the closeness and the tenderness of the encounter.

Minimalist and Highly Stylized Drawings

Italian Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Digital Artist Andrea Minini, has come up with these fascinating renditions of animals.  They are not super detailed like some of the ones that we normally feature here on DesignStack but, they have a beauty, that lies in their simplicity.  The beautiful flow of circular lines they are constructed with, give the animals a sense of fullness, a hint at a 3rd dimension, rather than a flat image.

MIITO Minimalist and Stylish Induction Drinks Heater

There are many ways of heating up your favourite drink.  Most of them are either inefficient or, in the case of the kettle, over filling causes a waste of electricity.  Jasmina Grase and Nils Chudy bring us MIITO, place your cup, bowl, glass, teapots, and any other non-ferrous vessel, onto the induction base, immerse the heating rod in the liquid, and let the liquid boil. MIITO can also heat milk for your coffee or a bowl of soup.  MIITO is currently raising money on Kickstarter (a crowd funding site) and to date has raised 3 times more than their original pledge, so it will be made and sold.  More information in the video, GIF animations and images below.
