Graphite is used in all of the images you see below. The standard format seems to be one person, one critter. That said, there are pictures that contain more of the furry companions.
I like how comfortable the different beings seem to be with each other. The relationship is a subtle one. Neither one is overly concerned with the other, happy to share the moment together in a natural way, not seeking to attract attention from us, the onlookers...
Now to my favourites. I put the first and second drawings next to each other. They are both holding an owl and it's like the lady is looking back at herself when she was young. Her first connection with an owl. I am not saying that this is what the artist intended, just that they seemed made for each other, when I saw them.
The second one is the girl holding the large monkey. The hold is such a loving embrace and her kind demeanour adds to the hugging motion.
As well as furry beings, there are also feathered ones in the form of birds. Let's not forget the fantasy aspect carried forward by the dragon.
