Architecture Drawings and Paintings in the UK

Gorgeous UK locations and architecture, expressed in drawings and paintings.

British Artist Jeff Smith drew and painted all of the buildings you see on this page.

So many variations on styles and designs are showcased in today's post.  They all come from one country. Even so, look at the array of different buildings.

There are castles, mansions, pubs, a tiny home, urban houses and more rural ones.  The greenery contained in many, if not most, ties them and offers a shower of colour to brighten up the scene.

My first pick is image number 3.  It's a variation on an alley.  Instead of a flat road on a flat or an incline, there are a beautiful set of steps that lead to all sorts of picturesque homes.  I particularly like the building with the corner windows.

My next choice is the tiny home on the bridge.  Both are built with stone that has aged beautifully over the years.  It adds colour by allowing different kinds of moss to adorn its facade.  It looks so cosy, quiet and must allow amazing views of its surroundings, including the river below it.

The last one I am going to mention is the last image.  I am talking about the Black Gate in Newcastle.  A large and compact structure at the same time.  It looks like a little fortress out of time.  It stands there surrounded by structures and buildings far younger than itself.  I am pretty sure no one lives there.  It's probably used for local government offices or as a museum.  Can you imagine calling a place like this your home?

Have a fantastic time sightseeing and welcome to your new week.
