A collection of vintage pencil cartoon/comic characters.
Austrian Artist Ptero Pterodactylus drew all of the images you see on this page.
Some of these characters still populate TV and streaming sites with updated features. Other are relegated in the past where only a select few know about them.
First thing I have to mention: The following is what is below all of the drawings on the artist's site: "Another Dojo Sketch, 1 hour done at the Dojo during the Judo training of my son." How cool is that? Multitasking at work.
I love the detailing and the fact I recognise many of the characters and series on this page. The thing that stands out the most for me is the fact they are drawn with a blue color pencil. I am not sure what it is about it, but it brings out the drawing in a more of a spectacular way when compared with graphite. That is not to say I don't like graphite, it definitely shines within its own environment.
Taz. Now that is a character with no equals. Crazy and single minded about doing his own thing. : )
I don't mean to offend anybody out there, but I never got Droopy. I remember trying to watch it when I was a kid, but could never stick with it.
The last mention, I like the enthusiasm and the happy smile of the cricket jumping up and down. A wonderful bright spot to end this post.
