Eric Anthony drew all of the images you see in this post.
In the first two drawings you see two images. First the sketch, then the application of detailing to give it a more realistic finish. Not a hyper-realistic one, just one that lies somewhere between a photo of a person and an animated version of that same human.
Most of the drawings carry subtle expressions. The only one I would set apart, when it comes to the group, is drawing number eight. You can definitely see a simile on her face. The rest are more difficult to discern. It relies more on interpretation and a healthy amount of guesswork. You are, in most cases, deciding what the character is feeling in that moment. You are trying to guess her state of mind and her thoughts.
There is a good variety, throughout, of all of the factors that constitute a portrait. it doesn't feel planned and stale but rather a reaching out, by the artist, to choose different ideas to test and expand the range of the work.
There is a lot to see in each piece and the page as a whole. Take your time with them and you will get so much more out of Anthony's work.
